Today is such an improvement over the cold cold cold this winter has had to offer. I went for a jog and then came back and took Mad out for a walk. She did spend some quality time jumping in puddles, running, and climbing icy snow mountains. It was AWESOME! Here's an album of snow picks from the big storm in contrast.
Tomorrow Mad has a Valentine's Day party at school. We are in charge of the healthy snack. Which means I'll be making something with oat bran and fruit in the shape of hearts tonight. I'm sure it will be a fun party.
Mad has been really into making up plays lately, so we spent a lot of the day yesterday acting. Even in the car, Mad still manages to create little dialogues with her feet or hands as characters. She's been doing this since she was tiny. Though now she confesses that her hands are often karate people during group time at school, and they like to play and jump around when they're supposed to be focuing, um, on group time. The other night as her feet were talking, they wanted me to play along, but, apparently I was not a very good actor, because Mad finally got exasperated with me and said, "Mommy, your line is..." every time she wanted me to talk.
The Valentine fairy has been visiting our house every night now for the last week or so, and last night Mad'sLeprechaun friend, Leppy, dropped by to bring her a shirt with shamrocks forming a heart. She was very excited to hear from him! Hope everyone has a Happy Valentine's Day!
